project: After acquiring Allaire, Macromedia rolled its products into the Macromedia brand.

objective: Macromedia did not want to alienate Allaire customers. The business products needed a different look than the products sold to designers.

solution: Keeping elements of the Allaire imagery and using the color bar as the server product designator. The color bar confines the abstract graphic elements so they aren’t too graphical.

results: The Allaire team was pleasantly surprised that the package seemed familiar yet fit in with the Macromedia brand.. Below is the older Allaire package.
