project: San Francisco State University’s online news needed a style for a changing column header. The graphic linked to an article featuring a headshot and an interview.

objective: Small, simple, draw attention but match rest of page, easy-to-update.

solution: Silouette was made from the headshot in the article. The backgrounds and type color rotated each time with bright colors from the section's existing palette.
The second graphic was a tight alternative for space.

results: I provided the news editor a layered template and showed him how to make the silouettes. He was able to make them pretty quickly every two weeks.
