My sister's trees
acrylic, 5' x 40", SOLD, private collectionI went to visit my family in Connecticut—in the early spring for a change.
I was stunned by the beauty of the bare trees. Of course, I had seen this my entire childhood in NY, but had forgotten.
I took photos and worked with them to get the feeling but also the accuracy of the actual branches.

Port of Oakland
14" x 17", acrylic, plein airAlthough it appeared so old and rusty, a guy came and took red trailer mid-way through painting.
Two ships in India Basin, Fourth of July
12" x 16", acrylic, plein airPainted in the car parked on the sidewalk. Too windy to be outside.
Not a bad way to spend the 4th of July.
Henry Coe Park fire from Palo Alto marsh
12" x 16", acrylic, plein airThis was a fascinating and scarey day. Canvas was already in progress when fire started so I moved the fire.
The speed of the fire suggested that it was the lovely, very dry park.
The birds never came near me but I managed to catch their last movement before they settled in for the night.
